CeraVe Moisturizing Cream and Hydrating Facial Cleanser

Good morning and happy Wednesday!!!

I hope you are having a good week and are experiencing beautiful weather, too!  We have been blessed with beautiful weather here in the Houston area which is nice since so many are out for spring break.

Today I want to share with you my love of CeraVe Moisturizing Cream.  I LOVE this cream.  I use it every day all day long.  I used to never want to wear lotion because it was so greasy and seemed to rest on top of my skin.  I love the fact that CeraVe is not greasy and really hydrates my skin.  It doesn't have a heavy, greasy feeling.  I refer to it as a "drink of water" for my skin.  You know how when you're thirsty and in need of water and once you take a drink you feel so much better?  It's sort of like that...makes my skin instantly feel so soft.

I also use the Hydrating Facial Cleanser.  I love the way my skin feels right after washing my face.  It feels so clean!

You can get a $2.00 off coupon here.

I hope you have a fabulous day!!!

Take care,

National Day of Unplugging

Friday, March 9th - 10th (sundown to sundown), is National Day of Unplugging.  There is a website promoting unplugging from your devices.

We increasingly miss out on the important moments of our lives as we pass the hours with our noses buried in our devices.

Are you addicted to your phone, notebook, or computer?  I, personally, can go without being "plugged in" without having withdrawals.  I find it very freeing to be disconnected from all technology.  I like not having a barrage of stuff coming at me at all times.  Know what I mean?  Usually if I'm on Facebook for a while I am either trapped :) in a car (just kidding) waiting on the hubs or its at night and I want to check in and see what my friends/family are up to.

If you were to unplug, what would you find yourself doing?  Reading a book, visiting with a friend/family member or taking a nap?  The weather here is supposed to be nice so I imagine I will be outdoors taking in the sun.  Something we didn't see much of in February as we had 81% cloud coverage.  Crazy, right?

I have several books I want to read...a couple I owe a book review on so I imagine I will be doing some reading, too.

Whatever you do, I hope you slow down and truly enjoy the time with your favorite people.

Take care,

Red Sparrow Movie Review

Image result for pics of jennifer lawrence in red sparrow

Good morning and happy Wednesday!!!

Yesterday the hubs and I went to see Red Sparrow.  Jennifer Lawrence was brilliant.  There was nonstop action from the moment the movie started 'til the very end.  Nonstop.  I have been known to fall asleep (a time or two) in the movies but that didn't happen yesterday.  I was engaged immediately to the very end.

The story line was really good.  Having said that, it is VERY IMPORTANT you know this is an R-rated movie.  VERY R-rated.  There are many bloody altercations, steamy sex scenes and lots of nudity.  Parents please do not bring your children to this movie.  There was a lady and a little girl (probably six years old) sitting in the row in front of us.  They stayed about 10 minutes before leaving.  In that 10 minutes that precious child was exposed to way more than she should have ever seen.

I have to say this is probably one of the best action movies I have seen in quite a while.  Personally, I could have done without so many bloody scenes but the story line is really good.  The supporting cast members are all very talented.

I'd love to hear if you've seen Red Sparrow and did you love it or hate it?

Hope you have a wonderful day!

Visiting Disney Through Google Street View

Jon Russell with Tech Crunch, released this article this morning.  This may be the next best thing if you're wanting to go to Disney World.  Who am I kidding?  If you are a Disney fanatic like I am, this will not cure your desire to go.  It will probably make it worse!  :)  You can get your visual "fix" by walking through the parks through Google Maps.

Walt Disney World Magic did a post on it here

Our family is planning a trip to Disney World and Universal Studios for 2019.  We REALLY wanted to go this year but we decided it would be better to wait until next year when Mr. W will be a little taller and the new Star Wars area hopefully will be ready.  After all, it's no fun if you're the only one that can't ride the rides.  The hubs said he wants us to all have Thing 1, Thing 2, etc. shirts to wear to Universal Studios so we will be busy putting things together, not to mention deciding what character meals we want, etc., etc., etc.  So many decisions to make so we can pack it all in.  It's so important that we make sure everyone gets to do what is most important to them.

I am so blessed my kids love going to Disney as much as I do.  The guys are great sports and go along with us with no complaints as long as they get the dining plan!  :)  The food is very important to them.

Hope you have a magical day!!!

Take care,

Mardi Gras / Valentine's Day Celebration

Good morning and happy Thursday!!!  Happy March 1st!!!

Today I am sharing with you our Mardi Gras / Valentine's Day celebration.  Mardi Gras is always on a Tuesday, hence "Fat Tuesday", and this year it fell on February 13th.  I love sharing the traditions I experienced as a child with my grandkids.  Living in the suburbs of Houston, we don't celebrate Mardi Gras as big as Lake Charles.  Heck, they have the day off to make sure they don't miss all of the parades and fun.  Galveston has a huge celebration for Mardi Gras that encompasses a couple of weeks.  I haven't gone as of yet.

If you know me, you know there's no way I am going to pass up a chance to have a party so I decided to combine the two holidays together.  Mr. W will tell you there's always a party at Maw Maw's house.  :)

Welcome to our Mardi Gras!!!

I bought these large Mardi Gras beads from Sam's oh so many years ago.  Like a really long time ago.  Sometimes I use them on the LSU tree...sometimes I don't.  Just depends on the look I am going for.  I think they are perfect for Mardi Gras, don't you?  They have held up really well considering they are stored in our attic.

I draped a Mardi Gras necklace on the base of the lamp.

Isn't this Cajun gator just the cutest?  Brooke and Brad brought this back to me from New Orleans.  It is so unexpected and different.

Every year, while packing up Christmas, I have this crazy debate in my head.  Do I decorate for Mardi Gras or not?  This goes on for hours.  At this point, I am getting a little cranky and want to have everything put away.  But....I look at these beautiful ornaments and can't put them away when they are perfect to decorate for Mardi Gras.  So in the throes of my hot mess of a home, I start decorating for Mardi Gras.  I probably think I am crazy and I probably am.  :)  I can't help myself.  The hubs is so good.  He doesn't say a word.  In the past, he'd try to discourage me which probably fueled me to do it even more.  I can be stubborn like that.  :)  He'll be the first to tell you how much he loves it once its done.

Aren't these crawfish ornaments the cutest?  I've had these for about 18 years and never use them so I added them to the LSU tree and now the Mardi Gras tree.  After all, Mardi Gras and crawfish go hand-in-hand.  Especially if you are from Louisiana.

We have three masks.  Two gold and this beautiful green and purple one.  It is much prettier in person.

The Mardi Gras bead drape was purchased at the same time I purchased the large Mardi Gras beads.  I was asking the hubs where a piece of artwork was and he thought I was talking about this poster.  It wasn't what I wanted, but I was so glad he mentioned it.  His sister gave us this poster almost 30 years ago for our first apartment and is a perfect accent for our Mardi Gras decor.

We celebrated the two holidays on a Sunday afternoon.  I hadn't given ANY thought as to how I was going to decorate the table so I was pulling decor from the foyer.  :)  AKA as winging it.  :)

The Jester has a busy role.  You can find him in the LSU tree, the foyer and now holding court as the centerpiece.

I bought a plain King Cake for the grands.  I believe Tiffani found the baby.  :)

We had a lot of sweets.  I had to buy these pretty cupcakes so I could use my Mardi Gras picks.

I bought this beauty at Ace Hardware.  I love going to Ace. There are so many neat things to see.  They have really nice garden decor and lots of LSU banners, rugs and flags.

We bought the grands each a Tervis cup in a design they like.  The Star Wars is for Ms. A, the floral is for Sweet P and Batman is for Mr. W.  The hubs filled them with candy.

It wouldn't be a Valentine's Day celebration without chocolate dipped strawberries.

I didn't want to spend all of my time cooking so I picked up a Stouffer's lasagna with meat and sauce.  It is so good.  Our family loves it.  I usually have a salad and breadsticks as sides along with sweet tea.  Sweet P loves my sweet tea.  She said it's so professional.  :)  She also told me I should show her mom how to make it.  Gotta love those grands!!!

The grandkids loved decorating sugar cookies for Christmas so I baked some more sugar cookies in the shapes of hearts and teddy bears.  They were so excited to get to decorate more cookies.

They had a great time decorating their cookies.  I completely forgot to take any pics of their masterpieces.  :(  However, I did manage to snap a couple of pics just as they were about to leave.

Boys are so usually takes a couple of pics to get a good one.

We had a lot of fun and made some wonderful memories.

Do you like to celebrate the holidays with your kiddos or grandkids.  It is so surprising how much fun they have doing the simplest of things.  I want them to know how much we love them and how important they are to us.

Hope you have an amazing day!!!

Take care,
